Botanicals

I have always loved this little grouping of botanical prints. It catches my eye every time I walk through the front door. I think it works for a few reasons:

  1. I collect botanicals, so it reflects a collection that I’ve had for many years.
  2. I love having a few of my favorites together, rather than spread out around the house.
  3. The frames are different, but they each have a warm tone, so the common color keeps the prints together as a group.
  4. The print on the right is my absolute favorite – there is a blue that is so unexpected to me.
  5. And it’s because of the joy of the hunt – I found them at a couple different antiques markets.

If you have a few pieces of art that are similar in some way (theme, colors, etc.) — or even if you find wonderful pictures in a magazine that you love — try putting them together in a grouping in frames that complement each other, but are not exactly the same. You may find that it creates a unique space on your wall that your eye goes to every time you walk in the room.
